Hi, I’m Bill. I started comparing flashlights and found a lot more to sort out than brightness alone.
A flashlight looks like one product category until you start comparing exact models. Carry shape changes how a light fits in a pocket or bag. Battery format affects replacements and charging. Similar model names can belong to different generations, and package contents vary by retailer and region.
Headlamps and chargers add another layer. A rechargeable headlamp might use a built-in battery, a removable cell, or a hybrid system. A charger can support a cell code while excluding a protected length or requiring a manual setting for a particular chemistry.
Why I made this site
Beam & Battery grew out of that research. I wanted one clear place to compare portable lights, understand battery and charging systems, and find the exact manuals and product records behind the details.
The site starts with practical buyer guides for EDC flashlights, rechargeable headlamps, and 18650 chargers. Battery-size charts, charging-system guides, and model-family references cover the ownership questions that are easy to miss when every product is presented on its own.
